Hubby was off Thursday and Friday so we are taking a mini vacation...

Thursday we spent the day at the lake playing and fishing...everyone ended up catching a perch or two and hubby caught a medium sized spotted catfish. Later we set the tent up in the backyard to go "camping"...the kids thought it was great to be able to sleep outside.

Friday we went to the Zoo to help celebrate "Nisha" the baby elephant's first birthday. We were there on the day she was born last year and was lucky enough to be see her right afterwards. Nisha weighed 238 lbs at birth...she now weighs 740 lbs .

Today we will be going to another lake to do some more fishing...will post more pictures when I can. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

As you can see from the photo above, the garden is growing great.
We have been picking lettuce like crazy and giving it to everyone in the neighborhood...LOL.

The kids were really excited to be able to share the first cherry tomatoe at dinner last night.
It was so funny to see them try to slice that little tomatoe so they could each have half.

Our first day of picking green beans and getting them ready to be vacuum sealed...we ended up with a 10 gallon bucket filled to the top...12 bags total for the freezer. This freezer will be full by the end of August like it was last year...sure helps on the grocery bill.

I will try to take more pictures and get them posted as I have time.
